The National Alumni Association of Saint Augustine’s College, Inc., Alumni Contest was initiated in 2003 as a means to generate money as part of our Annual Giving Campaign, while at the same time creating friendly competition among chapters. Each chapter is asked to raise funds in support of an alumni queen (alumni king is now included) contestant. The winner is crowned during Homecoming festivities. In 2012, the College changed its name to Saint Augustine’s University. To date, this contest has been a successful endeavor, both monetarily and through encouraging school spirit.

Homecoming 2022 is October 9-15, 2022. The crowning of Alumni King and Queen will be held as part of the Scholarship Gala, on Friday, October 14, 2022, at TBD.

As with previous years, each chapter is asked to have one or two representatives in this contest.  You may choose to have both a KING and a QUEEN contestant or simply choose one or the other.  Each contestant or chapter controls and determines how they will fundraise for this event.

 

If a chapter chooses to support its or a contestant(s) through the sale of raffle tickets, these funds should be submitted with all other  monies by the contest deadline. 

 

NAA-SAU Raffle tickets will be provided, as in the past, to each chapter. Chapters may request number of tickets as needed. Raffle tickets will be available for pickup only at the NAA-SAU Commencement General meeting on April 29, 2022, and may also be available at the National Conference in currently scheduled for June 9-11, 2022.

 

If a chapter does not have a King or Queen contestant to compete this year, we are asking that you hold a fundraiser or fundraisers to support the Scholarship Gala.

 

As with previous, years, we are strongly suggesting that all NAA-SAU members, those affiliated with a chapter and at-large members solicit ads for our Program Book. Ads will greatly increase our revenue and allow us to give a larger donation to the University on behalf of all members of NAA-SAU and defray some of the cost our Scholarship Event.
